Guido Carrillo trebled his tally for the season with a brace in Leganés’ comfortable 4-0 Copa del Rey win over Murcia at the weekend.

The striker played the full 90 minutes of the second round encounter, opening and completing the scoring against their third tier opponents.

A further double from former Middlesbrough striker Martin Braithwaite completed the scoring, with Leganés back in La Liga action on Friday night at home to Getafe.

Elsewhere in Europe, the continued winter break meant there was to be no competitive action for a host of Saints’ loan contingent.

Galatasaray earned two friendly victories with back-to-back fixtures over the weekend, with Mario Lemina playing a half in each.

There was more friendly success for Wesley Hoedt and Royal Antwerp, as the defender played the first hour of a 3-0 win over Lugano.

Making his debut after joining on loan at the start last week, young defender Christoph Klarer completed the full 90 minutes as SKN St Pölten put five past Amstetten in a friendly encounter.
